School 1 offers your children the opportunity to come and learn in a safe and vibrant environment

The school has a warm and welcoming, family friendly atmosphere in which your children are able to embark on the first steps of their educational path with the care and support of a highly dedicated and professional team.
The emphasis upon academic success and development of the individual is paramount to the expectations of the families and the school.  This is achieved by providing the children with stimulation and an enjoyment and value for learning that we hope will develop into a lifelong, positive attitude towards education.

We offer you and your children a warm welcome to the school and know that time spent with us will be successful and enjoyable.

Information

Children of about 30 nationalities study in our school in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding where we are able to embrace and celebrate the culture and customs of other nations.
Our qualified EAL (English as an Additional Language) teachers help and support the teaching of children for whom English is not their native language. From Year 1 onwards we offer Russian language for native and non-native Russian speakers. This provides value for all involved, meeting the needs of our local families and making the community more accessible for our expatriate children.

The children develop creativity and imagination, allowing them to realise their potential in all areas of learning.
We accept children from 3 - 7 years of age into our Early Years and Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1) classes. The EYFS begin their work using the Development Matters and Early Learning Goals curriculum. The Key areas of; Communication and Understanding, Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Physical Development form the basis of their initial education and is combined with more academic and creative areas of study. At 5 years of age the children enter Key Stage 1 and we apply the subjects of the National Curriculum of England and Wales. This continues to develop the individual’s skills through a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to meet the needs of our children. Employing topic based approaches to humanities and the sciences ensures a relevant and stimulating educational experience for all.
