On 1 September, the British International School officially welcomed the new 2026/27 academic year. As is traditional, the day began with special assemblies at all our schools, as well as plans and expectations for the year ahead.
Each school had its own special atmosphere: a little excitement, plenty of smiles and the joy of seeing classmates and teachers again. Our students shared their summer stories, talked about their travels and looked forward to everything the new academic year has in store.
For our youngest pupils, 1 September marked an important first step into a new stage of school life. For older classes, it was the beginning of a year filled with new knowledge, projects, achievements and opportunities to shine.
Our teachers and headteachers welcomed the students back and wished them curiosity, new discoveries and plenty of memorable moments throughout the year.
For parents, the day was special too. The start of a new academic year is always a reminder of how quickly children grow, become more independent and take new steps towards their future.
