At the end of October, Year 12 students of School 3 received their coveted IGCSE certificates. The IGCSE programme is designed for students from 14 to 16 years old and is approved by the University of Cambridge.
The IGCSE curriculum is aimed to develop students' analytical skills and creative thinking, to encourage active learning and self-confidence. It all greatly contributes to their further academic success. Students master a wide range of subjects, the compulsory are English, science and mathematics, the rest are chosen.
The students wrote the IGCSE exam papers in June, and for several months the Cambridge Assessment International Education and the Pearson Education centres calculated the results for the certificate.
We at BIS 3 have seen students gaining grades of A* to C in 88% of entries and A* to A in 46% of cases. This is in comparison to the UK average of 77% and 29% for the year 2021. These results allowed the majority not only to obtain IGCSE certificates, but also to proceed to the IB course in order to enter the leading universities of the world.
