Alexey Evsikov was appointed General Director of the British International School in July 2026, having previously served as Deputy General Director since January 2021. Alexey began his career with the British International School in 2009 as a Specialist and was promoted to the position of Executive Director in 2010. In 2013, he continued his professional career outside the British International School, gaining extensive management and legal experience across both the public and private sectors. Throughout his career, Alexey has held management and legal positions in a number of prominent organisations, including Russian Post, the Association of Russian Banks, the Moscow Representative Office of a Swiss Bank, the Moscow Tax Revenue Centre, and has also successfully managed his own business. In addition to his executive career, Alexey has been actively involved in higher education since 2008, combining his professional experience with academic teaching and research at the Higher School of Economics, the Russian State University of Justice, and the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. In 2012, Alexey was awarded the degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences (PhD equivalent in Law). He subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2019, followed by an Executive MBA in 2025, further strengthening his expertise in strategic leadership and executive management.
Paul Beattie joined the British International School of Moscow midway through the 2025-2026 academic year. He brings a wealth of experience from his native Scotland, Venezuela, Malaysia and Russia, having worked in diverse educational settings. Paul developed a passion for education while completing his degree at the University of Edinburgh.
He is deeply committed to fostering a positive school culture and sense of community, with a keen interest in the science of learning, personalised learning journeys, and promoting staff and student agency. Paul is particularly passionate about developing pupils' voices and creating leadership opportunities for children beyond the classroom, empowering them to become active, confident learners and leaders.
