On Thursday the 13th December 2018, a celebratory reception was held at the Embassy of Nicaragua in Moscow to commemorate the 74th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
On Thursday the 13th December 2018, a celebratory reception was held at the Embassy of Nicaragua in Moscow to commemorate the 74th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This event coincided with the opening of the children's drawing exhibition, “Nicaragua through the eyes of Russian children”. Winners of Nicaraguan poet Ruben Dario’s illustration competition were invited to join the celebration. Here at BIS we are delighted say that these winners included two pupils from School 3: Vartanova Sofia and Sukhova Liliya. Both girls had an enjoyable evening socialising with Mrs. Alba Asusena (the Interim Chargé d'Affaires of Nicaragua), diplomats from a variety of Latin American countries and other schoolchildren from Spanish schools in Moscow. Diplomats noted their creative potential along with the impressive levels of Spanish and English spoken by both girls. Following the event, they have been featured on Nicaraguan television channel Telesur and Russian channel RT. Very well done!
