Last week our School 3’s students visited a new place on the BIS traveling map - Kaluga. As they study the IB programme, this trip is a great opportunity for them to improve their portfolio in CAS, one of the compulsory subjects for study.
Students went sightseeing, visited museums, participated in master classes and learned how to write a personal statement. They also talked to some of the alumni and learned about the valuable experience of studying at US and UK universities.
While traveling, the students keep a diary where they record interesting observations and share their impressions. We would like to share some of their notes:
“The activity that I most enjoyed today was, without doubt, the gingerbread masterclass. Feeling like I had gone back to being a child, I had an enjoyable time decorating my cookies
with colourful icing” - Rachel, Year 13
“Graduates of BISM 3 gave us an informative talk about how university life overseas is and how to prepare ourselves. We were able to get tips on how to choose what type of universities to go to and how we can make our first year of university go smoothly”. – Khadeeja, Year 13
The School always looks for places that would be great for our students to visit. We believe that the trip turned out to be interesting and very productive to learn new things and enrich the curriculum.
