week Nursery at School 1 have been learning about light and dark, day and
night.
This week Nursery at School 1 have been learning about light and dark, day and night. They explored the classroom in the dark with torches and battery-candles and had lots of fun making shadows on the walls with their hands. They also investigated how light can be changed by creating stained-glass windows and watching the sunlight shine through. In Literacy lessons they have been reading ‘Can’t you Sleep, Little Bear?’ written by Martin Waddell and learning about many different light sources. They realised that the moon can reflect light even at night time, and crafted fantastic artwork to show this. Finally, they used shapes and colours to show the difference between day time and night time and discussed day and night routines.
