Year 4 Sharing Assembly. World Book Week. Parent Teacher Meetings. Talent Show. Assessment Week. Important Dates.
Dear parents,
Year 4 Sharing Assembly
Please note that the Year 4 sharing assembly date will change from the 25th March to the 22nd April.
World Book Week
School 2 recently enjoyed world book week. The focus of the book week was to celebrate reading for pleasure where children were encouraged to see reading as pleasurable and fun, stimulating them to discover new books, extend their reading choices, discuss and share books, and create their own pieces of writing.
Part of this was the character costume parade – where many pupils dressed up as their favourite book character. Please see below Year 5 and 6 costumes.
Parent Teacher Meetings
Please return your reply slips to teachers by Monday 14th March.
Please also remember there are no free clubs during week beginning 21st March. Thank you.
Talent Show
This is a reminder that all children will be given the chance to audition on the 17th March. The competitors will audition to a small panel made up of children and teachers during the afternoon of the 17th March. During the audition phase, only children will be required.
Every child taking part, during the audition day, will receive a warm congratulation and certificate to celebrate their participation.
After the auditions, some children will be chosen to take part in the grand final - the successful acts will perform to the school on the 31st March. Parents of children competing on the 31st March will be invited in to school.
Assessment Week
Next week is assessment week, where the children will be engaged in guided reading, undertake math’s tests and complete a piece of writing. Please help out by ensuring your child arrives on time during next week.
