In November last year, Ghunho Min took part in the British Physics Olympiad, a prestigious and academically challenging competition for the most able students of physics from schools globally. Ghunho achieved a Silver Award, representing a score within the top 30% of the 2000 students to compete this year from around the world. This is an amazing feat that represents an excellent grasp of Physics. Well done, Ghunho!
This January, Year 11 and Year 13 students have been sitting their mock examinations. This provides the students with an opportunity to complete examinations under the same rigorous conditions as the final exams in summer. Under strict invigilation, the students demonstrate their academic ability across all subjects and provide reliable evidence for the International Baccalaureate and Cambridge examination boards. Mock examinations provide valuable evidence for BISM 3 teaching staff to predict grades for students and help them appreciate which areas and topics are most in need of revision. But perhaps most importantly, mock examinations allow students to experience the full process of taking public examinations, instilling them with confidence ahead of the official IB and IGCSE examinations in May and June.
