They thought about what could have laid such a big egg. Eventually they decided it was probably a dinosaur or a dragon (they hoped it would be a dragon friend for Ivan, their class dragon). They decided to put up some signs to warn other people who might come into the classroom to be careful of the egg.
When the egg hatched they found that it was a dinosaur. The children researched different dinosaurs online and decided that it was a triceratops. They have named their new friend Sarah.
