Last week, Year 1 has been learning about prediction and sequence via a story called the Queen’s Hat.
After reading a few pages, the children wrote where they thought the Queen’s hat might end up after a wind blew it off her head. Applying terms like first, next, then and finally, the children thereafter had to work out where the hat first went before it finally was found.
To help their understanding they made a jam sandwich to reinforce their sequencing skills. First the children gathered the ingredients. They then spread butter and jam on their bread before putting the two pieces together. They then completed a worksheet. Tasty, hard work!
